Starting with Netscape 3.0x and Internet Explorer 3.0x, the newer browsers recognize different fonts. However, for a font to be displayed properly in a browser, it must be installed on the viewer's system.

The list at left is the standard Windows '95 fonts - with font names displayed in the actual font. When a font isn't installed on your system, your browser substitutes one that is. Generally, this is Arial (or Helvetica) for sans serif fonts and Times Roman for serif fonts.

If you don't see anything but Arial or Times Roman, either your browser is elderly, you don't have the particular font installed on your system, or you have done something screwy to your browser default font settings. You can download the TrueType core fonts for the Web for Windows at the Microsoft Web site. If this link does not produce the FREE font packs for the web, locate the free downloads topic, then search for the word fonts.

If you have a particular font request, please let us know, bearing in mind that it should be one on the list.

This font list applies only to type. Any font can be used for graphics and doesn't have to be installed on the viewer's system.

This page was created using 10 pt. Verdana.
